Safety engineering is becoming increasingly important in the world of drives. Wherever people work in the directly operating areas of machines or systems, personal protection is critical. Our safety engineering is already integrated in our drives. In servo inverters, frequency inverters and distributed drives, the safety functions we provide range from "safe torque off" right up to higher-order safety functions such as "safely limited speed".

Change in the standards governing the safety of machines
The new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EU will be in force from 28.12.2009, while EN ISO 13849-1 will replace the outdated EN 954-1.
