L-force automation.  L-force is a new philosophy in drive and automation technology.  It is an integrated range of products including motors, drives, controllers and software.  Both PC based and Drive based concepts are included.

PC based automation.  Here processing of sensor signals and drive instructions is done centrally in an industrial PC.  This includes instructions of speed, torque and position to the drives.  PC based automation is mainly suited to applications with a high number of axes and central processing can lead to savings in drive costs and size.

Controller based automation.  A separate dedicated controller is used to operate drives.  For inverter systems the Lenze Drive PLC provides cost effective control.  For servo systems the ECS motion controller suits complex systems with multiple axes and complex 3D path control.  Either a CNC or a MC operating is possible.

Drive based automation.  Here processing of machine variables is done in the drive, reducing the load on the central PC/PLC.  Pre-configured software solutions and familiar IEC61131-3 programming saves engineering time.  Drive based automation suits modular machinery that can be quickly adapted to customer requirements, also large machinery where drives are located far apart.
