RIghtsizing

The home of Rightsizing

What is Rightsizing?

Rightsizing is the concept of selecting the optimum drive and automation solution from a detailed analysis of the machine requirements.

What is the benefit?

Our customers benefit with some, or even all, of the following

- lower costs because components are matched to the requirement
- smaller drive sizes and smaller panels
- improved acceleration, braking and general performance because inertias  are lower
- faster projects as your drive system is already matched and sized for you
- reduced energy consumption

What is needed to Rightsize?
You need three things:

1. A scalable range of products that gives the choice to exactly match requirements.   By this we do not only mean product ranges like geared motors from 1 to 15000Nm or inverters from 90W to 375kW.  We also include a choice of technology, for example ac asynchronous or servo, IPC or PLC, centralised or decentralised intelligence.

2. The knowledge about drives technology applied through Engineers that are experienced, qualified and well trained.  Lenze stores engineering knowledge for customers too in our AKB Application knowledge base, and our Drive Solution textbook (ask your salesmen about getting a copy).

3. Software tools that make difficult tasks easy and practical.  Our DSC electronic catalogue is a configuration tool that quickly identifies the options and eliminates mistakes.  DSD is a powerful sizing tool that handles a wide variety of real-life applications, even producing an energy certificate.  L-force Engineer is software for programming and parameterisation.
